The Vans Premium Old Skool 36 Combat Black introduces hardware and layered texture to the classic low top silhouette. A canvas and leather upper balances flexible fabric with more structured panels, while the black colorway ties the materials together. The defining detail is a studded Sidestripe beneath a net overlay, giving the shoe a rugged appearance that becomes clearer up close.
The familiar lace-up construction includes an additional set of laces, offering another way to adjust the presentation. A padded collar and Sola Foam ADC insole provide cushioning, while a higher glossy sidewall frames the upper. Vulcanized construction and the signature waffle outsole preserve the recognizable Vans foundation, keeping the more elaborate surface details grounded in the Old Skool’s familiar shape.
This edition works well for collectors who appreciate subtle material changes within a dark palette. The netting, studs, leather, and canvas create contrast through texture, allowing the shoe to complement simple denim or utility trousers. Released on July 16, 2026, the Vans Premium Old Skool 36 Combat Black retailed for $115.
