"The Kelly Retourne is known for its more relaxed structure compared to other Hermes classics, but like its Birkin counterpart, it takes a while to make - 18 to 24 hours to be exact. In fact, before they even get their hands on a bag, Hermes craftsmen train for years in the leather and craftsmanship program at Paris’ Ecole Grégoire-Ferrandi. The bag, named after Princess Grace of Monaco (née Grace Kelly), was originally made in 1892 and used for holding a saddle and redesigned once again in the 1930s by Robert Dumas, the son-in-law of Hermes.
